Jeff Warren is a native of Virginia Beach, Virginia and a graduate of Kellam High School.  Mr. Warren received his bachelor of music education from Virginia Commonwealth University.  He has been the band director at Churchland High School in Portsmouth, Virginia since 2005.  Jeff is also an active freelance hornist in the Hampton Roads area and a member of the Virginia Wind Symphony since 2009.


Prior to his career in music education, Jeff performed with the Charlotte Symphony as assistant principal/utility horn from 1996-1999.  He has also been a regular performer with the Virginia Symphony, Richmond Symphony, Williamsburg Sinfonia and has performed with the North Carolina Symphony.   During his freelance career Jeff has performed with artists including Tony Bennet, Marvin Hamlisch, Herbie Hancock, YES, Blood, Sweat & Tears, Bernadette Peters, The Irish Tenors, Clark Terry, Ray Charles, David Sanborn, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, The Four Tops and the Empire Brass.


Jeff served on the staff/faculty of the Kendall Betts Horn Camp from 1997-2003 with the late Kendall Betts former principal horn of the Minnesota Orchestra.  He was also a guest artist beside Mr. Betts with the North Country Chamber Players.


Jeff resides in Virginia Beach with his wife Michelle and two sons Zackary and William.  He enjoys reading history, mountain biking, hockey and of course playing the horn.
