Adrien Gaines, Clarinet
Mr. Adrien Gaines attended Shenandoah University Conservatory of Music earning a Bachelor of Music Clarinet Performance with Music Education emphasis from Shenandoah Conservatory of Music. He has received Masters of Music Business and Technology certification from Berklee College of Music. Mr. Gaines is a decorated military musician of the United States Army Bands. SGT Gaines performed and led the marching bands, concert bands, jazz ensembles, woodwind quintets, throughout the Asian-Pacific.
Mr. Gaines has performed as principal clarinetist with the Shanghai International Choral League 2017-2020, Beijing Brass and Japan Jazz Band Woodwind Member 2013-2017, principal Clarinetist of Beijing International Chamber Orchestra of Beijing 2011-2017. Rehearsal conductor of Beijing International Chamber Orchestra and guest conductor at the Shanghai Regional Honor Band Festival 2019.
He has continuously performed as principal clarinetist in concerts to include city performing art centers, halls, schools, and worldly embassies in conjunction with local charity, foundations, and fundraisers.
In his educational roles he has taught with Model Language Studios in Tokyo, Japan Music & Arts Education/Specialist in Humanities/International Services 2007-2011. In China, he has educated with the Canadian International School in Beijing, China. In Shanghai he educated musically at Dulwich College, Shanghai Musical Department on strengthening and enhancing music education.
Mr. Adrien Gaines is a dynamic and dedicated music professional equally comfortable in the teaching studio as well as on the concert stage.
His teaching and performance background is varied and substantial and includes experience both locally and internationally. Since 2001 he has continually taught as clarinet & woodwind specialist instructor of rudimentary to advanced musical knowledge of various ages and levels to students.
Mr. Gaines is excited to be performing with his home of Virginia music professionals in the Virginia Wind Symphony.
