Born and raised in Newport News, Virginia, Christian Mitchell is a skilled and versatile drummer/percussionist with over 15 years of experience performing across a wide range of musical styles. He plays regularly throughout the Hampton Roads area with various groups spanning genres from classical to jazz. A graduate of Old Dominion University, Christian received extensive classical and jazz percussion training under the guidance of Professors David Walker, John Toomey, Brian Jones, Dennis Zeisler, and Dr. Doug Owens. In addition to performing, he is an active music educator, teaching drumline, front ensemble, and private lessons at schools throughout the region.
